What I'm learning

Course 1 — Linux System Programming & Buildroot. Programming directly against the Linux kernel and C library: processes and threads, file I/O, signals, and inter-thread / inter-process communication with sockets — plus building a custom Linux kernel and root filesystem for an embedded device using Buildroot.
Course 2 — Linux Kernel Programming & Yocto. Writing Linux kernel drivers, and building my own custom embedded Linux distribution with the Yocto Project through hands-on assignments.
Course 3 — Embedded System Topics & Projects (capstone). A final project of my choosing running on real embedded hardware, delivered with Agile / Scrum practices — turning the specialization into a demonstrable device.

What I'll be able to do

Configure, build, and deploy the Linux kernel and root filesystem from source.
Build a custom embedded Linux distribution with both Buildroot and Yocto.
Write Linux kernel drivers and develop application software using threads, IPC, sockets, and POSIX APIs.
Take an embedded Linux project from concept to running hardware.

Why I'm doing it

Embedded Linux is the bridge from bare-metal MCU firmware to the higher tier of my field — Linux BSP, Adaptive AUTOSAR, SDV, and robotics. It's the single highest-ROI upgrade for the roles I'm targeting, and the capstone becomes a real, hardware-backed project I can add here. This page will grow as I complete each course.
